Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs.
  • Experience working with SCADA Systems, Human Machine Interfaces, and thin clients.
  • Previous experience at troubleshooting complex automation issues to determine root cause.
  • Experience integrating automation controls into various factory manufacturing processes.
  • Solid track record of integrating electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Able to serve as a member of the 24/7 Rotational On Call Support Team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an environment utilizing change control and good documentation practices.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation technologies.
  • Solid track record developing automation solutions.
  • Experience working with servo drives, robotics, vision systems, SCADA, mechatronics and motion control.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform automation work to complete the commissioning and qualification of new systems.
  • Work collaboratively with cross functional engineering teams to improve the operational performance of equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot running systems to ensure continued plant operations.
  • Develop solutions, and generate associated change records, to address repeat issues in both automation and production equipment.
  • Perform investigations into issues that potentially impact multiple Roche/Genentech sites.
  • Support junior Automation Engineers in their development, as well as in their troubleshooting efforts.
  • Support building user requirements and design reviews in support of new equipment.
  • Preview, and provide approvals on tests generated both by Automation and by other functions.
  • Provide feedback to other teams on areas for improvement in regards to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, etc.
