About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, hands-on Principal Associate Scientist to join our dynamic Extrahepatic Biology team at City Therapeutics. This is a laboratory-based industry role focused on advancing next-generation RNAi target discovery efforts, with the opportunity to lead experimental execution on early discovery CNS projects. The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, eager to learn, and motivated to work as part of a team to drive projects forward in a fast-paced research environment. They are independent, adaptable to evolving scientific priorities, and thrive under changing timelines and urgent demands. This is a full-time, 5 days a week onsite role with significant experimental responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including high-throughput RNA extraction and RT-qPCR, ideally with familiarity using the KingFisher system
  • Experience culturing cell lines and primary cells and performing in vitro assays
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong experience maintaining detailed experimental records in ELNs, ideally in Benchling
  • Demonstrated ability to design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments independently
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to experimental rigor, data quality, and reproducibility
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to effectively manage multiple parallel tasks, shifting priorities, and urgent timelines
  • Highly motivated team player with a proactive, no-task-too-small mindset and willingness to carry out both routine and high-priority work to advance early-stage research programs

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute molecular biology and analytical assays, including RT-qPCR, SL-qPCR, ELISA, and MSD assays
  • Culture and expand cell lines (including glioblastoma and neuroblastoma) and primary cells (including rodent, non-human primate, and human glial cells and neurons)
  • Support in vivo studies through tissue processing, homogenization, lysate preparation, and downstream analyses to assess siRNA distribution and efficacy across tissues
  • Maintain accurate experimental records, reagent inventories, and documentation in electronic lab notebooks on a daily basis
  • Analyze and interpret experimental datasets to support data-driven decision-making and advancement of discovery programs
  • Prepare detailed presentations and communicate results in 1:1, project team, and company-wide meetings
