About The Position

Principal Associate - Mainstreet Customer Marketing (Hybrid) Capital One is seeking a data-driven and innovative Principal Associate to join the Mainstreet Customer Marketing team. The position requires a combination of strategic vision-setting and deep expertise in lower-funnel marketing channels (email, push notifications, and in-app messaging) and offers the chance to leverage cutting-edge marketing capabilities, including multi-armed bandits, GenAI, and modular testing, to fuel personalization.

Requirements

  • Excitement about customer engagement marketing and financial literacy!
  • The ability to balance high-level strategic vision setting with an acute attention to details
  • Experience developing creative briefs, leading creative processes, and effectively collaborating with internal creative teams and external agencies
  • Proven experience in lower-funnel direct response campaigns (email, app, push)
  • Experience leveraging data, metrics, and insights to inform strategy, drive results, and foster continuous learning
  • A curious mindset for researching consumer attitudes, behaviors, and market trends
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with outstanding presentation abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of the Google Suite (Docs, Slides, and Sheets)
  • Experience managing the details of multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining high-quality, accurate work
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience of lower-funnel marketing experience (email, app, push)
  • At least 4 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 4 years of experience managing creative processes and partnering with creative teams

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • At least 5 years of experience working in an agile team environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in financial services marketing (customer marketing preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic vision, including long and short-term roadmaps, for the Customer Engagement and Financial Health programs
  • Influence internal decision-makers by crafting and delivering formal recommendations through excellent communication
  • Identify and lead near-term testing opportunities to drive program growth
  • Direct the development and execution of testing initiatives across lower funnel channels (email, app, push)
  • Partner closely with analysts to evaluate business performance, uncover new opportunities, and refine strategies
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including analysts, creative, operations, and legal
  • Proactively share learnings and best practices
