About The Position

The Principal Architect – Data Governance is responsible for defining and leading Logicalis’ data governance and information protection strategy within its core IT portfolio. This role positions data governance as a foundational IT and security capability that enables secure collaboration, regulatory compliance, risk management, and operational resilience. The role works closely with the Overwatch Office and the Security, Cloud, Modern Work, Hybrid Infrastructure, and Managed Services teams to ensure governance is platform-aligned, practical, and embedded within Logicalis’ existing offerings. This role does not focus on analytics, BI, or data science.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT or security architecture roles.
  • Deep experience with data governance, information protection, or compliance.
  • Strong background in Microsoft platforms, security, identity, and hybrid cloud.
  • Relevant industry certifications for area of focus or practice area.
  • Appropriate OEM based certification for area of focus or practice area.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, curious, lifelong learner, strong written communication, collaborative, able to articulate technical views.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people will understand; ability to provide understanding of how proposed solution will solve client’s business needs, requirements and problems.
  • Ability to have business level conversation with IT technical customers and C-level executives alike and assist them in deploying solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Fluency in formulating and expressing thoughts and ideas.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and technical/business communication skills.
  • Strong technical and customer interaction skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and accommodate requests from multiple clients and from Logicalis pre-sales, delivery and sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Defines the enterprise data governance and information protection strategy aligned to core IT platforms.
  • Establishes governance architectures, patterns, and standards integrated with security, identity, cloud, and collaboration services including but not limited to: Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, information protection, retention), Security Services and the Overwatch Office (data risk, executive visibility, compliance readiness, identity governance), Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure Platforms, Identity, Access Management, and Zero Trust Architectures.
  • Embeds governance consistently across existing practice portfolios and service offerings.
  • Identifies gaps and near-term enhancement opportunities aligned to supported platforms.
  • Establishes governance reference architectures, patterns, and tooling standards.
  • Ensures governance integrates naturally with cloud, security, identity, and operations.
  • Serves as a senior advisor for governance-related customer engagements.
  • Enables Sales and Architects with clear, IT-aligned governance narratives.
  • Raises governance fluency across Solution and Field Architects.
  • Provides architectural oversight and escalation.
  • Ensures consistency across sales, delivery, and managed services teams.
  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.
  • Supports and conducts self in a manner consistent with customer service expectations.
