About The Position

As a Principal Application Architect at Gainwell, you will be part of a team that uses leading-edge technologies to help improve the health and well-being of those most vulnerable. Your role involves defining end-to-end application and solution architectures for incoming customer initiatives and programs, encompassing business, information, application, infrastructure/cloud, network, security, technical operations, and compliance at both State and Federal levels. You will work across multiple projects, identifying and addressing architecturally significant changes, completing architecture impact assessments, preparing technical documentation, and presenting solutions to the Account Architecture Review Board (ARB). This position is viewed as a leader on an Account, requiring you to assign architecture resources across a portfolio of projects, provide mentorship to more junior staff, and perform final reviews on document deliverables for customers. Regular interaction with various levels of leadership, including the Project Management Office (PMO), project teams, infrastructure and security teams, and the customer, is expected, with a strong emphasis on productive collaboration and quality communications.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years of application architecture and/or product development experience.
  • Experience working with Architecture framework methodologies such as TOGAF.
  • Experience working with Software systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Experience working with Application design principles and product configurations.
  • Experience working with Programming languages, databases, tooling, operating systems, infrastructure, and cloud technologies, as relative to any given Account.
  • Experience working with Software development lifecycles and client requirements.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel.
  • Good communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel and management.
  • Driving of Enterprise Architecture initiatives for large Accounts, State and Federal Accounts.
  • Producing technical roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and supporting documentation.
  • Conducting technical research, testing, and evaluation of complex IT systems.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile.

Responsibilities
