This Principal Analyst position is located in NOB Norfolk, VA, and functions as a project management role. The Principal Analyst assists COMNAVAIRLANT with maintenance coordination for Aircraft Carriers, both in port and at sea, throughout the entire maintenance cycle from deployment to return, pre-availability planning, CNO Availability execution, shakedown, work-up, and subsequent deployment. This role, as the CSMC, reports to and represents COMNAVAIRLANT Ship's Material Directorate, supporting assigned Aircraft Carriers in resolving equipment casualties, planning availability, managing logistics for repairs, and providing TYCOM oversight of maintenance periods with reports to CNAL N431. The position requires coordination with various organizations including NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVWARSYSCOM, PEO C4I, and applicable Public and Private Shipyards.

Requirements

  • Former E-7 and above (to include LDO, CWO) with Combat Systems background.
  • Afloat service operating and managing afloat CVN Combat System suites in all aspects of C5I.
  • Understand and manage Combat Systems associated with Navy ships, with a specific focus on CVN operations and systems.
  • Experience in Tactical Air communication systems.
  • Secret Clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist COMNAVAIRLANT with maintenance coordination both in port and at sea, during the entire Aircraft Carrier maintenance cycle.
  • Support assigned Aircraft Carrier in the resolution of equipment casualties, Availability Planning, Logistics to effect casualty repairs, and TYCOM oversight of the Availability/Maintenance Periods.
  • Provide reports to CNAL N431.
  • Coordinate with organizations such as NAVSEA, NAVAIR, NAVWARSYSCOM, PEO C4I, Public and Private Shipyards as applicable.
  • Be able to get underway onboard CVN for short at sea periods.
  • Maintain a daily work routine onboard supporting the Combat Systems Officer requirements throughout the ship when the CVN is in port.
  • Attend Combat Systems Conferences and Shipyard Project Team meetings.
  • Possess a complete understanding of CVN Combat Systems and how to troubleshoot and apply corrective actions.
  • Understand the Navy modernization process including SCD, Modifications, Project Team execution, Modernization Readiness Assessment, and Pre-Installation Check Out.
  • Understand C5I modernization integration strategy.
  • Understand redlining/developing Combat System Interface Diagrams (CSID).
  • Prepare periodic status reports.
  • Perform additional duties as required to address emerging requirements and priorities.
