About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking a Principal AI Security Technologist to lead and scale its security transformation into a converged, AI-supported security ecosystem. The role owns the target-state AI and data architecture for converged security operations spanning Physical Security, SOC/GSOC, Threat Intelligence, and Insider Risk. It drives AI agents and automation from pilot to production at global scale, evolving existing foundations that include a unified security data platform and early AI agents for operator triage and investigation. The position is focused on fundamentally changing how security work is performed by determining which work should be automated, which should remain with people, and how they work together. The role will evolve the multi-year transformation roadmap, define and govern architecture and integration decisions, scale AI agents with appropriate evaluation and human oversight, shift operations from rule-based alerts to risk-based assessment, and lead initiatives through enterprise-scale production. It will measure outcomes such as workload reduction, detection accuracy, response speed, and risk visibility, while retiring legacy tools and manual workflows as replacement capabilities mature. The technologist will mentor engineers and data scientists, partner with IT, cybersecurity, legal, and privacy teams, and represent technical direction to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in security technology, security engineering, or security operations, including significant time in an architect or technical lead role.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI agents, machine learning, or advanced analytics to security or adjacent operational problems, with at least one capability delivered to production.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise physical security systems, including access control, video management, intrusion and alarm systems, and security operations center workflows.
  • Experience designing data and integration architectures that bring together data from multiple operational systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate security risk and operational needs into technical and automated solutions and to lead multifunctional teams through delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with converged security, fusion-center operations, and high-security industrial environments, including semiconductor or manufacturing.
  • Experience deploying LLM-based agents in production, including evaluation, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Knowledge of security risk frameworks, governance, privacy, and responsible AI, particularly for workforce and video data.
  • Relevant security, cloud, or technology certifications such as CISSP, CPP, PSP, or cloud architecture credentials; advanced education or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the multi-year security transformation roadmap for Physical Security, SOC/GSOC Operations, Threat Intelligence, and Insider Risk, aligning it with operational priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Define and govern the target-state AI and data architecture across physical security systems, SOC tooling, intelligence platforms, and insider risk capabilities; make decisions on data models, integration patterns, platform choices, and AI placement in workflows.
  • Identify security tasks suitable for AI agent automation or AI-assisted execution, including triage, enrichment, correlation, and investigation preparation, and take agent capabilities from pilot to production with evaluation, guardrails, and human oversight.
  • Lead the transition from rule-based alerting to risk-based assessment and prioritization across physical, intelligence, and insider domains, using multi-signal correlation to identify threats earlier and reduce false positives.
  • Lead initiatives from concept through production and enterprise scale; define and track metrics for workload reduction, detection accuracy, response speed, and risk visibility; retire legacy tools and manual workflows as new capabilities mature.
  • Mentor engineers and data scientists, partner with IT, cybersecurity, legal, and privacy team members, and represent the program's technical direction to senior leadership.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans in all locations.
  • Benefit programs that help protect income if unable to work due to illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Robust paid time-off program.
  • Paid holidays.
