About The Position

The Principal AI Engineer is Truvio’s most senior hands-on AI engineer and sets the technical direction for building finance agents in Microsoft Dynamics 365. The role defines the architecture of Truvio’s agentic platform, leads complex technical work involving context-graph reasoning, agent reliability, and governance, and establishes engineering standards for teams developing AI products. The position works closely with the CTO, product leadership, and the platform team, and influences through code, designs, and technical judgment rather than direct reports. The engineer will own the end-to-end architecture of the agentic platform and lead the design and development of flagship agents for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury. Responsibilities also include defining AI evaluation, quality, safety, governance, cost, and latency standards; making and documenting build, buy, or partner decisions; mentoring senior engineers; representing Truvio’s AI technology to customers and partners; and identifying product opportunities created by AI. This is a permanent, full-time principal individual-contributor position and technical lead for AI across Engineering. It is remote in Europe, with Nordic hubs or Vienna welcome. The role offers the opportunity to shape Truvio’s AI architecture while remaining close to production code and influencing how teams build finance solutions for the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading the design of production AI or ML systems at scale.
  • A track record of shipping LLM-based or agentic systems that real customers depend on, with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong systems design skills in distributed systems, data modeling, APIs, security, and multi-tenant SaaS.
  • Strong hands-on coding skills in Python and/or C#/.NET, with an interest in writing complex production code.
  • Expertise in evaluation, retrieval, tool calling, and agent orchestration, with a clear understanding of their failure modes.
  • Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent written English, including the ability to write actionable engineering design documents and concise executive decision documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central or Finance & Operations), Dataverse, or another ERP.
  • Background in finance operations, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, or treasury.
  • Knowledge of knowledge graphs, graph databases, or semantic data modeling.
  • Familiarity with the EU AI Act, GDPR, and audit requirements for AI in regulated processes.
  • Publications, open-source work, or conference talks in applied AI.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end architecture of the Truvio agentic platform, including how agents reason over the context graph, call ERP tools, and hand decisions to humans under Trust & Control.
  • Lead the design and development of flagship agents for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury, writing production code and establishing reusable patterns.
  • Define AI engineering standards for evaluation methodology, quality gates, safety and governance controls, and cost and latency budgets.
  • Make build, buy, or partner decisions about models, frameworks, and vendors, and document the decisions.
  • Mentor senior engineers across product teams and grow the AI engineering community through design reviews, AI Unplugged sessions, and internal writing.
  • Represent Truvio’s AI technology with key customers, Microsoft, and partners, and translate learnings into the roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities for AI to change Truvio’s products and bring those ideas to product leadership.
