About The Position

Prime Air is redefining last-mile delivery through drone technology. We are seeking a Prime Air Area Manager to serve as a front-line leader responsible for executing daily operations at a Prime Air Drone Delivery Station. This role involves leading and supporting teams across flight operations, ground handling, and fulfillment to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery performance. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, contributing to cutting-edge operations.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of direct people management, including performance management and employee development experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of full-time Amazon experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity that will drive performance improvement
  • Work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
  • Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
  • Ability to work in an outdoor operational environment and perform physical tasks

  • Prior experience in the drone/aerospace industry

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a front-line leader responsible for executing daily operations at a Prime Air Drone Delivery Station.
  • Lead and support teams across flight operations, ground handling, and fulfillment to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery performance.
  • Drive key operational metrics including safety, quality, and delivery efficiency.
  • Monitor real-time operations to remove barriers and maintain system uptime.
  • Partner with Operations Managers and cross-functional teams to execute staffing and operational plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and coach associates.
  • Provide clear escalation and communication during active operations.
  • Directly manage a team of hourly associates, overseeing scheduling, performance management, and day-to-day coaching and development.
  • In partnership with HR, address associate relations matters including attendance, performance concerns, and corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping, headcount tracking, and staffing records for your team.
