About The Position

Monte Nido Glen Cove is a residential treatment program in Glen Cove, New York, serving adults seeking treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or exercise addiction. Its treatment approach focuses on restoring physiological and nutritional balance, establishing healthy eating and exercise routines, eliminating harmful behaviors, and supporting motivation and engagement in treatment. The program helps clients understand their disorder and its effects, and identify what they need for personal recovery. The Primary Therapist joins a multidisciplinary treatment team and provides therapeutic care to clients. The role may also require supporting virtual patient care and telehealth services as needed, including during periods of low census or to address coverage needs. This is a per-diem position with pay of $31.88–$40.87 per hour.

Requirements

Master’s degree in clinical counseling or a related discipline, at minimum.
State license or license eligibility in a counseling field, such as Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or LPC.
Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with eating disorders and higher levels of care is helpful.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
Serve as a liaison with families and outpatient providers.
Interact with insurance companies for pre-certification and utilization management.
Participate in discharge and aftercare planning.
Provide therapeutic meal support while modeling a healthy relationship with food.
Provide safe, empathetic, and affirming care tailored to each client and their intersecting identities.
Support virtual patient care and telehealth services as needed, including during periods of low census or to address coverage needs.
