Mass Bay Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and clinically grounded Master's Level Primary Therapist to join their outpatient team in Dorchester, MA. This is a full-time hybrid role centered on carrying an individual caseload and delivering comprehensive mental health and substance use services to clients and their families. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills across assessment, treatment planning, and direct therapy, along with a genuine commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution
  • Active Massachusetts license or license-eligible status: LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, or LMFT
  • Demonstrated experience in psychotherapy modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-focused approaches
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding and behavioral health medical terminology
  • Strong crisis management skills and experience with crisis intervention and safety planning across diverse populations
  • Excellent clinical writing and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Proficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records; experience with Kipu EMR a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT) and/or LADC I credentialing
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders, trauma/PTSD, grief, and substance use populations
  • Training in Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, or trauma-focused CBT
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or Mandarin

Responsibilities

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and intake interviews using ICD-10 coding to develop personalized, person-centered treatment plans
  • Provide individual, family, and ad-hoc group therapy using evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, Seeking Safety, and relapse prevention models
  • Serve as the primary clinical contact for an assigned caseload, monitoring progress, updating treatment plans, and coordinating discharge and aftercare planning
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies including safety planning and coordination with higher levels of care when clinically indicated
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including prescribers, group facilitators, case managers, and outside referral sources
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant clinical documentation in the Kipu EMR, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge paperwork, in adherence with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Massachusetts state regulations
  • Deliver remote therapy sessions via secure telehealth platforms to support continuity of care and client accessibility
  • Participate in weekly clinical supervision, team case conferences, and program development initiatives
