About The Position

The Primary Therapist II role is part of the Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Program, specifically within the IOP (Intensive Outpatient) Level of Care, working with both children and adults. This position involves conducting individual and group therapy focused on mood, anxiety, stress, and eating disorders. The therapist will also conduct family therapy and/or family education sessions, develop individualized treatment plans for each patient, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to implement these plans. The schedule for this role is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must possess a full independent clinical license in the State of Texas.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related (required)
  • Has obtained and maintains an independent mental health license as required by state to practice individual therapy (required)
  • Has carried significant individual and/or family caseload for at least 2 years with documented success in treating patients with common diagnoses and expected comorbidities; demonstrated ability to work independently; developing specialty within line of service and broadening expertise with other populations (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with individual and/or family therapy (preferred)
  • Ability to move from one task to the next with ease, flexibility (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conducts psychotherapy including individual, group and family therapy
  • Completes clinical paperwork for each patient on case load, including treatment plans, progress notes, wellness plans, aftercare plans, and discharge summaries
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments and treatment planning for each patient on case load, including biopsychosocial, self-harm and suicide assessments
  • Creates individualized treatment plans with specific and measurable goals in collaboration with treatment team members
  • Creates treatment agreements, support plans or behavior plans as needed
  • Attends treatment team meetings and treatment team rounds to coordinate patient’s care with interdisciplinary team
  • May provide training and guidance to less experienced teammates (Primary Therapist I and II)
