As a member of the Coldwater site team, the Primary Plant Operator position will execute the daily tasks of maintaining and operating an aggregate processing plant in accordance with Amrize’s best practices and policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment’s operation.

Requirements

  • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training in First aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner, confined space, and working-at-heights.
  • Specific mobile equipment training.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform extensive manual labor tasks.
  • Computer literacy is considered an asset.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial plant operation experience or heavy equipment operation experience are considered assets.
  • Computer literacy is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Daily operations of a stationary crushing plant while meeting safety and production targets.
  • Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, Joint Health and Safety Coordinators, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Promote safety policies, processes, and review procedures to ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure that the plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional.
  • Ensure assigned equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
