About The Position

The Primary Counselor will facilitate various formats such as individuals, groups, and specialty groups in a professional, ethical, and caring manner. This role involves managing all aspects of a caseload from entry to discharge, with a focus on appropriate levels of care and clinical interventions. The counselor will also provide backup coverage for absent clinical staff, demonstrate initiative in task completion, and manage workload efficiently in collaboration with the Site Director and Program Coordinator. Additionally, the role includes addressing program issues with the Program Director related to strategic objectives and service delivery, and participating in agency quality improvement programs by supporting actions to enhance care based on outcome data.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate various formats (e.g. individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner.
  • Manage all aspects of a caseload from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.
  • Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences.
  • Demonstrate initiative in task identification and completion; use time efficiently in working with the Site Director and Program Coordinator to effectively handle volume of work.
  • Address program issues with the Program Director, which pertain to strategic objectives, annual plan and overall delivery of services.
  • Participate in and support agency quality improvement programs; support actions to improve care and services based on outcome data.
