About The Position

Primary Control Law and Autoflight Manager (Level K) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Flight Controls team is seeking a Primary Control Law and Autoflight Manager to lead the engineering team located in Everett, WA . Position Overview: In this leadership position, you will apply your technical expertise and commitment to quality to guide a team of flight control engineers in developing and supporting the Primary Control Laws and Autoflight Systems for Boeing Commercial aircraft. As a vital member of the management team, you will help shape the strategic direction for current programs and future technology initiatives within the BCA Autoflight and Primary Control Laws organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 3+ years experience in the aerospace industry
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of plans and execution of Flight Controls statement of work to meet BCA airplane program priorities
  • Lead by positive example and support the career growth and skill development of the Flight Controls Autoflight and Primary Control Law engineers
  • Ensure a team is in place that cultivates a continuous creative and multidisciplinary approach to problem solving with respect to responding to and performing the work related to program needs
  • Routinely engage with program leaders, managers and members in the Flight Controls team to work assignment needs, technical work updates, roadblocks and challenges, lessons learned and historical perspectives
  • Oversight of technical decision-making and engineering quality
  • Lead towards timely resolution of time-sensitive Continued Operational Safety Program (COSPs) and Boeing Problem Solving Method (BPSM)
  • Direct coordination with Supplier and/or Customer
  • Performance management and mentorship of an engineering team
  • Cross-functional coordination with other organizations such as Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain
