About The Position

The Primary Care Sales Consultant (SC) is responsible for implementing sales strategies for an approved Cardiorenal product and driving launch activities for an anticipated menopause product. The role involves increasing demand, providing clinical education, and driving sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians, primarily in community settings. The position reports to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and is part of the Area Customer Squad, collaborating with internal partners like Marketing, Market Access, and Patient Services to achieve US Pharma outcomes. The territory covers Davenport, IA, and the Quad Cities area, requiring up to 50% travel. The position is residence-based, and the candidate must live within the territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.
  • Proven track record in developing long-standing relationships with customers.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to foster an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to comply with any customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up-to-date vaccinations, trainings).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • In-depth knowledge in the cardiovascular and/or diabetes and/or menopause disease states.
  • Product launch experience.
  • Strong analytical and computer capabilities.
  • Virtual Sales Experience.
  • Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop professional relationships with primary care physicians and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved CV and menopause products by working with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local payers and community HCPs.
  • Leverage expertise in the diabetes and menopause marketplace, competitors, and industry activities to manage business opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide input to other commercial colleagues (sales leadership, regional account managers) for strategic and tactical planning.
  • Develop and implement effective customer-specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize time and effort for optimal coverage of physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.
  • Understand customer product and business needs and work to meet them while adhering to Bayer's ethics and compliance standards.
  • Anticipate potential barriers to goal achievement and propose solutions.
  • Effectively handle customer objections and exceed customer expectations with value.
  • Occasionally share exemplary skills with others in the region in a training capacity.
  • Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously improve proficiency.
  • Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying high ethical standards.
