Primary Care Physician
About The Position
Conviva Primary Care, a subsidiary of Humana Inc., is looking for a primary care physician for our clinic in El Paso, Texas. This role offers a hands-on approach to patient care, addressing needs within the exam room and considering how social determinants of health impact outcomes. We utilize a unique care model focused on senior-focused primary care with a versatile approach. The Primary Care Physician will report to the Associate Medical Director and will work onsite and in-person at the Conviva El Paso Vista Del Sol Clinic. The typical workday is Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, joining an experienced team with an established patient panel. Physicians see 12-15 patients per day with longer appointment times (45 minutes) to allow for more in-depth patient interaction. The role is 100% clinically focused on direct patient care, including patient-facing time and administrative tasks directly related to patient care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
- Board certified or board eligible in Geriatric Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment (or willing to obtain)
- Current, unrestricted DEA license
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of two+ years of experience
- 1+ years of experience managing Medicare Advantage panel of patients
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and coverage
- Knowledge of HEDIS quality indicators
- Fluent in Spanish and English
Responsibilities
- Take a hands-on approach, addressing patient needs inside the exam room
- Look beyond the exam room to understand how social determinants of health are affecting health outcomes
- Spend 100% of your time clinically focused on direct patient care, inclusive of patient-facing time and general administrative time as it relates to direct patient care
- Manage a Medicare Advantage panel of patients
- Provide proactive, preventive care to seniors, including wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatment.
