About The Position

Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive, high-quality care in our outpatient clinic. This role focuses on preventive care, diagnosis, and long-term management of patient health, serving individuals and families across our rural community. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or related primary care field
  • Active Michigan medical license required
  • DEA registration required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of primary care experience preferred
  • Experience in rural or community-based healthcare preferred
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical judgment, and patient-centered care skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services including preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and routine screening examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and treatment regimens in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up care as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the medical record
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
  • Engage with community organizations and healthcare partners to support population health
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards
