About The Position

The Ralph H Johnson VAMC offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services to address the unique needs of veterans in the region. Within its state-of-the-art facilities, veterans can access primary care services for routine check-ups and preventive care. The medical center also specializes in providing various forms of specialty care, encompassing fields like cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology, ensuring veterans receive specialized treatment. Surgical services, both inpatient and outpatient, are available to address a wide range of medical conditions. This VA Medical Center places a significant emphasis on mental and behavioral health care, offering counseling, therapy, and treatment for conditions such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety and provides a vital support service, including social work, case management, and rehabilitation programs to address veterans' social and emotional needs.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Must be ABIM or ABFM certified.
• State medical license and DEA registration.
• Minimum of twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last thirty-six (36) months performing services similar in scope to those defined herein, in a public or private institution.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive medical assessments of patients to establish diagnoses.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in line with the best medical practices.
• Provide ongoing primary healthcare to patients, including physical examinations, health screenings, and immunizations.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
• Counsel and educate patients on health and wellness, including lifestyle modifications and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient information.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.
• Keeps current with medical advancements, best practices, and continuing medical education.
