About The Position

Applicants are required to have the Additional Authorized Practice (AAP) designation. In the event there are no fully qualified applicants, The Saskatchewan Health Authority would be willing to sponsor current employees who are Registered Nurses and want to take the required Advanced Authorized Practice Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic with an anticipated completion date of July 1, 2026. This course is a requirement to work as a RN-AAP in Saskatchewan. We are currently looking for RN (AAP) licensure holding Primary Care Nurse with demonstrated ability to apply Additional Authorized Practice standards & competencies to diagnose & treat Limited Common Medical Disorders as identified in the Clinical Decision Tools. The practice involves working within the nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures; building partnerships, completing community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

Requirements

  • Additional Authorized Practice (AAP) designation
  • Registered Nurses (if sponsored for AAP program)
  • Advanced Authorized Practice Program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic (if sponsored)
  • RN-AAP in Saskatchewan
  • RN (AAP) licensure holding
  • demonstrated ability to apply Additional Authorized Practice standards & competencies to diagnose & treat Limited Common Medical Disorders as identified in the Clinical Decision Tools
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
  • Decision making skills

  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Registered/Eligible for registration with CRNS as an RN(AAP)
