Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - Part Time PCB
About The Position
ProHealth is seeking an energetic, passionate, and outgoing Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) to provide a variety of care to their dynamic customer base. ProHealth is the largest provider of Occupational Health services to employers in the Florida Panhandle and a leading independent laboratory testing company on the Gulf Coast, serving over 50,000 patients annually across 7 locations. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for interviewing clients, obtaining and recording health histories, performing physical and developmental assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, diagnosing health problems, and managing client healthcare. This role also involves maintaining health records, suggesting referrals, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, policies, and procedures within each office to provide excellent patient care.

Nice To Haves
- Two plus years’ experience in a multi-site medical setting.
- License to perform DOT physicals or must be able to obtain prior to start date.
Responsibilities
- Treating patients, obtaining medical history, and reviewing symptoms.
- Performing physical examinations.
- Ensuring preventive screening procedures are carried out, communicated to the patient, and recorded appropriately.
- Identifying medical and health risk factors and communicating them.
- Updating and recording changes in health status and diagnosis.
- Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Identifying appropriate pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Developing education plans.
- Accurately conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Prescribing pharmacologic agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
- Providing patient education.
- Making appropriate referrals.
- Determining the effectiveness of the plan of care and reassessing/modifying as necessary.
- Promoting a safe environment for the patient.
- Participating as a team member in the provision of medical and health care.
- Interacting with professional colleagues through chart review, consultation, and referrals.
- Systematically reviewing records and treatment plans with a collaborating physician periodically.
- Maintaining current knowledge by attending educational programs.
- Maintaining certification in compliance with current state laws.
- Performing other measures as initiated depending on the client’s condition and judgment of the ARNP.
- Performing twelve-lead electrocardiograms.
- Suturing simple and complex lacerations not requiring tendon or ligament repair.
- Performing incision and drainage of abscesses.
- Providing care of wounds and burns.
- Applying splints.
- Removing foreign bodies when necessary.
- Prescribing, initiating, monitoring, modifying, or discontinuing drug therapies within the APRN’s scope of practice and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Prescribing any prescription medication within the scope of training and knowledge base of the nurse practitioner.
- Prescribing scheduled II through VI controlled substances in accordance with state laws and scope of practice, and in accordance with protocols established between the practitioner and collaborative physician.
- Performing all other procedures for which the ARNP has been educated.
- Attending monthly meetings with branch and corporate staff and conducting the same when necessary.
- Ensuring all OSHA, Safety, and Healthcare Practices and Protocols are implemented and maintained within each branch.
- Ensuring all State Medical regulations are maintained as required.
- Ensuring that all staff licenses are verified and maintained as required.
- Identifying and submitting ideas for improvement.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Assisting with overseeing the clinical staff.
