About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) in an outpatient setting. The position is a long-term permanent search, and the NP will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, seeing an average of 23 patients per day. The patient population includes all ages. The practice includes 1 APP, 1 MA, and 1 Office Staff. The EMR system used is NextGen. Credentialing is expected to take 20 days.

Requirements

Active New Mexico licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 1-year Primary Care experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in New Mexico
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
