About The Position

Provide support to the Pride in Aging Department by completing paperwork and forms for the Golden Diner lunch program, registering new program participants, turning in cash bank, checking-in clients as they arrive for programming, setting-up movies to show in the afternoon, making phone calls on behalf of the Department and other administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in administrative tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and residents.
  • Skills in coordinating logistics for programming.
  • Experience in program promotion and material creation/distribution.
  • Ability to coordinate with HR/People and Culture for volunteer recruitment.
  • Organizational skills for managing promotional materials.
  • Experience with data entry and record keeping (e.g., MySeniorCenter).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to act as a point of contact for community members.
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions.
  • Skills in scheduling appointments.
  • Experience overseeing meal delivery programs.
  • Inventory management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate schedules for external personnel (student nurses).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with senior populations.
  • Familiarity with the City of Chicago Golden Diners program.
  • Knowledge of branding guidelines for promotional materials.
  • Experience with MySeniorCenter software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the patron registration desk which includes, greeting clients, collecting suggested donations, assisting patrons in signing-in and completing necessary City of Chicago Golden Diners paperwork.
  • Assist in completing intakes with new program participants and ensure Center on Addison is a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members.
  • Provide administrative support to the Pride in Aging Department including making phone calls, assist with mailings and filing.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and residents to promote Center on Addison programming and resources.
  • Coordinate logistics for programming, including room reservations, ensuring programming is added to the Center’s internal calendar, working with program instructors to provide required supplies and coordinate with instructors regarding program setup requirements.
  • Assist with program promotion by creating and distributing flyers in accordance with Center’s branding.
  • Coordinate with People and Culture to secure volunteers for Pride in Aging when needed.
  • Ensure all promotional and informational materials are organized, readily available, and regularly updated for community engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate with program instructors to obtain sign-in sheets and add program participation to MySeniorCenter.
  • Act as a point of contact for community members, addressing inquiries about programs and services and providing general information about the Center.
  • Facilitate Senior Discussion Group on an as needed basis.
  • Assist with taking RSVPs and scheduling appointments for Ask The Techie.
  • Oversee the delivery of Home Delivered Meals weekly.
  • Maintain an inventory of program supplies and notify Senior Director of Pride of Aging when supplies are needed.
  • Coordinate schedules for student nurses Center on Addison rotations.
