About The Position

The Buying department assists the company with various tasks associated with maintaining accurate price information in UNIX and proper product information for the Web Content department. Additionally, enhancing the UNIX system and other processes to improve efficiency in the Buyer’s Department. Under supervision, the Pricing Data Entry Clerk ensures the UNIX system contains the correct prices for both standard selling prices (MAP Flags) and cost prices (Multiple Book net). To maintain accuracy, the system is updated with pricing changes, which are detailed in vendor-pricing sheets. The Pricing Data Entry Clerk receives the vendor pricing sheets and performs extensive manipulation to convert the pricing information into a format that is compatible with UNIX. At times, the Clerk contacts the vendor to gain clarification on certain prices and to understand how a change affects other areas such as, vendor programs, MAP pricing, etc. All needed changes are communicated to other departments and followed by a live upload into the UNIX system.

Requirements

Knowledge of MS Office programs such as Word, and Excel
Familiarity with UNIX based systems
Professional phone skills
Analytical thinker and quick problem solver
Exercise interpersonal skills within team environment
Detail-oriented and quick thinker

Nice To Haves

Minimum 2-3 years experience in an administrative role
Utilization of Excel formulas such as vlookup, countif, etc

Responsibilities

Ensures all prices are accurate and reflected in all appropriate areas.
Performs complex manipulations to data in pricing sheets to prepare for UNIX upload.
Communicates with vendors to identify how pricing changes affect MAP and multiple booknets, etc.
Alerts Buyer of pricing or cost changes as compared to current inventory.
Uploads all changes into UNIX with an effective date in a timely manner.
