About The Position

The Pricing Coordinator's primary role is to ensure the accuracy and correctness of all prices, signs, displays, and shelf labels within the store. This position also involves providing backup support as a cashier or grocery clerk when needed. The Pricing Coordinator reports directly to the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and ability to count.
  • Able to give/receive complex verbal instructions/descriptions to/from supervisors/co-workers concerning store/department policy/procedures and use of equipment.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • A stable work and educational history.
  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Able to read instructions, merchandise labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, printed paper and forms.
  • Make judgments concerning the placement of merchandise on the shelf/display (spatial relationship), ordering of merchandise, case opening procedures and extent of unsellable product damage.
  • Able to open cases and stock so products will not be damaged.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, forklift, and baler.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a related type of job.
  • Prior experience operating a baler, case cutter, cleaning/sanitation equipment, pallet jack, and fork lift.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers, respond to customer questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner.
  • Verify that all signs, displays, shelf labels, and prices are accurate, correct, and complete.
  • Clean store floors, check-lanes, carts, restrooms, parking lot, and shelves, safely using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ensure the safety of self, customers, and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately.
  • Pick up and remove all broken containers, packing materials, and boxes from the sales floor or customer's pathway immediately.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.
  • Understand the operation, safety requirements, and restraints of a baler, case cutter, pallet jack, and forklift (must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, forklift, and baler).
  • Count and record individual items of merchandise for inventory.
  • Manually price mark/label merchandise without a UPC code.
  • Move damaged/unsalable and "returnable" products from shelves to the backroom, sorting the materials into bins or for return to the damage reclaim center.
  • Use proper case opening and product stacking techniques to prevent damage to product.
  • Remove trash from the aisle, operate the baler, put the compacted bale on a pallet, and load salvage onto trucks.
  • Change signs, light bulbs, tags, and price markers on the shelf display.
  • Assist cashiers by bagging/carry out when necessary.
