About The Position

The Pricing and Offer Strategy AI Intern will support Vistra’s Residential Pricing team in developing and optimizing product pricing strategies using financial modeling, data analysis, and AI-driven tools. This role focuses on enhancing speed-to-market and improving pricing processes through automation leveraging Agentic AI approach. During the 8–10 week internship, the intern will gain hands-on experience in competitive retail energy markets and modern pricing strategy practices. The role will center on a high-impact project leveraging data and AI, culminating in a final presentation of insights and recommendations to senior departmental leadership.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and translate findings into business insights
  • Experience or coursework in data analysis, statistics, or financial modeling
  • Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (required), SQL/Python (required), Tableau (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Interest in applying AI tools to real-world business problems

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts, automation tools, or prompt engineering is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with pricing, retail energy markets, or regulated industries is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Marketing, Product, and Finance) to support pricing initiatives and go-to-market strategies
  • Leverage in-house AI tools to improve pricing workflows, automate repetitive processes, and accelerate speed-to-market
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to streamline pricing, reporting, and offer deployment
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate pricing performance and recommendations to leadership
  • Monitor competitor pricing, market trends, and regulatory impacts to inform strategy adjustments
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and decision frameworks to support consistency and scalability
