About The Position

Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) encompasses American Express' merchant and network-related businesses, managing relationships with millions of merchants globally and partners involved in card acceptance, issuance, and innovation. This internship offers the chance to join an innovative team focused on making American Express an indispensable payments partner, delivering differentiated products and services, and driving revenue growth. The Global Merchant & Network Pricing (GMNP) team, responsible for the largest revenue source (merchant discount revenue), works with partners to determine pricing structures that encourage merchant acceptance, improve coverage, and enhance merchant satisfaction. The team drives merchant revenue and profit growth through customer-centric pricing principles, flexible pricing architecture, and innovative solutions. The Undergraduate Summer Internship Pricing Analyst position provides analytical support for strategic merchant pricing initiatives, working with stakeholders in Pricing and Client Management on high-profile projects with significant impact.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program
  • Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

Responsibilities

  • Support development of pricing approaches or constructs based on quantitative data analysis
  • Leverage internal and external data, competitive intelligence, and industry research to inform pricing approaches and maintain pricing integrity
  • Evaluate business cases for various merchant pricing scenarios, model P&L impacts, and perform sensitivity analyses to support decision-making
  • Build relationships with partners in the Client Management organization to achieve stated goals
