About The Position

ProgressiveHealth is seeking a dynamic Injury Prevention Specialist to join our team at a manufacturing facility in Lawrenceville, IL. This position focuses on injury prevention, ergonomic support, and employee wellness within an industrial environment, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on workforce health and safety. This role is ideal for a health care professional who enjoys building relationships, working independently, and providing proactive care focused on prevention, early intervention, and employee health outcomes!

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field such as Exercise Physiology, Occupational Ergonomics, Health & Wellness, Health Promotion, Human Performance, Human Factors, Safety & Environmental, Public Health, Sports Science, Physical Education, Fitness, Personal Training, or Athletics
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
  • The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the entire assigned shift
  • A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring current or future sponsorship for an employment visa (e.g., H-1B, OPT, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Athletic Training certification (ATC) preferred, but not required depending on experience.
  • Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing proactive injury prevention, injury care, and medical triage as defined by OSHA standards, including ergonomic postural education and/or escalation of medical care, if needed
  • Providing ergonomic assessments and support by understanding the site operations, job processes, and physical demands to make ergonomic recommendations to prevent more serious musculoskeletal conditions from occurring
  • Collaborating with medical & safety staff to implement and support occupational health initiatives
  • Keeping accurate, detailed documentation with efficiency while being able to provide feedback to the industrial athlete and client for continuous health improvements
  • Understanding and providing reports with key metrics to leadership, client partners, and operations management
