About The Position

The Harborview Medical Center – Social Work Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Prevention Manager to join the Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center (HATC). Our mission at Harborview Abuse & Trauma Center is to prevent and treat the harmful effects of traumatic experiences of survivors, families and communities. The Sexual Assault Prevention Manager is key to the prevention efforts as they develop and deliver sexual assault prevention education and interventions in the community. Leading sexual assault prevention activities require someone with strong clinical knowledge of trauma informed practices, public speaking experience, community capacity building skills , supervision skills and grant writing/grant management experience. This person will be required to speak at public forums , develop written materials related to sexual assault prevention and provide consultation to schools and communities after there has been a publicized sexual assault. This position will also be required to supervise staff and interns.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Public Health
  • At least 2 years of experience supervising other professional staff or 2 years leadership experience managing a prevention program.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional experience providing sexual assault services and/or prevention is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead for all sexual assault prevention activities, including management of contract deliverables, grant writing, curriculum development, and program development and oversight.
  • Deliver prevention and education services required by the Community Sexual Assault Program (CSAP) accreditation standards and grant-related programming, including facilitating monthly sexual assault prevention forums.
  • Manage the sexual assault prevention program, including supervising new staff and identifying opportunities for continued program growth.
  • Serve as the primary contact and clinical consultant to schools and communities that have experienced a sexual assault and want to develop policies, practices, and procedures to prevent future sexual assaults in their community.
