The Prevention Coordinator plans, implements, and evaluates behavioral health and substance misuse prevention activities across NPAIHB’s Youth Primary Prevention programs. The position serves as a central liaison among staff, contractors, and Northwest Tribal partners to facilitate communication, organize training, and schedule preparatory meetings. The Prevention Coordinator must have thorough knowledge prevention frameworks for environmental and systems change. The role also requires strong skills in prevention strategy, including the ability to promote social change, mitigate risk factors, and strengthen protective factors for youth, with the goal of delaying the onset of alcohol, tobacco, and substance use and contributing to healthier outcomes and community well-being. The Prevention Coordinator is part of NPAIHB’s Youth Primary Prevention program team, which includes approximately three (3) public health prevention professionals, and reports to the Youth Prevention Director. This scope of work is housed within the Clinical Support Services Division. This position is based at NPAIHB’s offices in Portland, Oregon and is expected to work on-site in accordance with applicable workplace and telework policies, including attendance at designated in-person meetings and activities. Local travel and overnight travel outside of the area are required.
