About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a position as a Preventative Maintenance Technician based out of the Roanoke Shop in Roanoke, VA, who will perform PM duties, along with routine maintenance and light repairs on a wide variety of aggregate/mining equipment. This role will work to service construction equipment across the Roanoke area.

Requirements

  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence and able to perform all duties under company safety policies and practices.
  • Must have a valid DOT health card or be able to obtain.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working on equipment.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist and lift 70lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work at heights of 20 feet.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PM duties, along with routine maintenance and light repairs on a wide variety of aggregate/mining equipment.
  • Service construction equipment across the Roanoke area.
  • Change oil, change filters, take oil samples, complete sample documentation, and submit for analysis.
  • Plan maintenance in a coordinated method that doesn’t interfere with production schedule.
  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on mining and quarry equipment.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
