About The Position

El Dorado Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a PM Tech to join our team in Placerville, CA! This is an exciting opportunity to work on our fleet of vehicles on site. Schedule is Monday-Friday working 8-10 hour shifts. Starting pay for this position is $33.00 per hour, depending on experience. Pay range for this job category is $32 - $33 per hour.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 yr experience in heavy truck repairs and maintenance
  • If no heavy truck experience, minimum 5 years automotive experience
  • Outstanding communication skills, and building good team relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility
  • Proficiency in inspecting brake systems (air brakes), steering, suspension, tires, electrical systems, and emissions (DPF/SCR).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 75+ pounds, with frequent kneeling, bending, and working in extreme temperatures.
  • Basic understanding of ECM downloading and interpreting trouble codes.
  • Familiarity with digital maintenance platforms for tracking service records.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is required
  • Must provide own personal tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus!

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine inspections at 21 day or 450 hour intervals.
  • Replacing engine oil, air filters, and fuel filters.
  • Performing and documenting annual DOT safety inspections.
  • Greasing components and adjusting brakes.
  • Repairs include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repairing engines chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels and tires.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Performs maintenance related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
