About The Position

Vancouver Hauling, a Waste Connections company, is looking for our next Preventative Maintenance Technician to work on our heavy-duty trucks and equipment to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently. PM Technicians interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Driver’s license.
  • Basic tool set and toolbox.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s license A or B CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in commercial or similar repair field is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and inspections, safety checks, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on diesel vehicles.
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Performs maintenance related work as required.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
