About The Position

Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Swing Shift Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Fife, Washington. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on a fleet of diesel trucks and heavy equipment. Requirements

At least one year of experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks is preferred
Experience in a commercial or related mechanical repair field is a plus
Valid driver’s license required
Basic tool set and toolbox required
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn diagnostic software
Strong communication skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn
This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on commercial diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, including yellow iron
Complete required documentation using fleet maintenance software, including parts usage and repair times
Conduct equipment safety inspections to ensure operational standards are met
Review and address repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
Communicate effectively with drivers and team members regarding maintenance needs
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards
Perform general shop cleaning and maintenance duties as needed
