We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Press Set Up Operator to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for setting up and operating stamping presses to shape metal work pieces and will safely operate machines, to produce parts conforming to specifications.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of smart pack experience
  • 5 + years of manufacturing experience
  • 5 + Years of metal stamping experience
  • Ability to read blueprint and production procedures/instructions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot if problems arise during set up or run
  • Mechanical aptitude; interest in the responsible proper use of equipment in a safe manner
  • Must be dependable, reliable and able to work well on a team
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the training of stamping operators in all areas of metal stamping.
  • Will step in as Lead when needed
  • Handle various materials, including steel, aluminum, and copper to insure efficient flow.
  • Basic computer aptitude
  • Ability to assist in coil changes and sensor issues on the production floor
  • Perform blanking, piercing, forming and drawing operations on a variety of parts.
  • Perform coil changes and assist operators with any issues at their machines.
  • Inspect work pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometer or other measuring instruments to verify workmanship standard.
  • Perform in process inspection, follow control plan and record results.
  • Communicates any issues with the machines with immediate supervisor and QA .
  • Document all required production data and prepare product for next step
  • Strong knowledge of stamping operations.
  • Other duties as assigned
