About The Position

The Printing operator is responsible for the operation and manual setup/changeovers of multi-color sheet fed or high speed continuous/web presses. The role involves performing a complete effective set-up of the press, including identifying and loading correct stock, setting the correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register, and setting up attribute functions like perforations, numbering, and file holes. The operator must understand all order instructions and run the press to meet job requirements for ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size, construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Additionally, the role includes performing daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance, understanding and demonstrating the use of all press controls, and troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, including making adjustments to the equipment such as blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning the water system, and roller settings.

Requirements

  • 18 years old and eligible to work in the USA
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 3 year of Manufacturing/Printing experience
  • Familiar with printing process and ink usage
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Perform a complete effective set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes.
  • Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size and construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance to ensure a quality product to customer as required.
  • Understands all press controls and demonstrates their use.
  • Maintains the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrates the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.
