About The Position

This role involves operating an offset printing press, ensuring accurate job completion, and maintaining operational efficiency. The Press Operator is responsible for planning ahead, managing job details, monitoring the printing process, and performing essential maintenance and quality checks. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and effective communication with team members.

Requirements

Ability to enter job completion details accurately into the OMS visual system.
Skill in planning jobs ahead and ensuring material readiness.
Proficiency in examining job orders for printing specifications.
Experience in filling out job-related documentation (load tags, orders, data analysis, coating documentations).
Ability to monitor feeding and printing operations and detect malfunctions.
Capability to communicate daily tasks and relay responsibilities to other operators.
Knowledge of cleaning ink fountains and performing line clearance.
Understanding of press lubrication and maintenance procedures.
Familiarity with color management on printing presses.
Ability to prepare the press for shift change.

Responsibilities

Enter job completion details accurately into the OMS visual system.
Plan several jobs ahead to ensure job materials are ready.
Examine job orders to determine quantities for printing, stock specifications, color, or special printing instructions.
Fill out all proper documentation relating to job requirements, such as load tags, orders, data analysis, and coating documentations.
Monitor feeding and printing operations to maintain specified operating levels and detect malfunctions.
Relay responsibilities to the feeder operator and communicate daily tasks.
Clean ink fountains during job changeovers and perform line clearance protocols from previous jobs.
Grease and lubricate the press according to manufacturing specifications and the company's planned maintenance program.
Manage color on the printing press according to quality and procedures.
Prepare the press for the next shift to ensure a running press at shift change.
Perform other duties as assigned.
