The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years as a printing press operator experience and/or training is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Report all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
  • Complete make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used.
  • Complete all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks.
  • Complete all press-side quality checks.
  • Operate press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency.
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks include: copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks.
  • Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
  • Complete press make ready’s in an efficient manner.
  • Complete all required equipment maintenance duties.
  • Clean plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricate press as needed.
  • Input all required information into the Radius system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner.
