About The Position

The Press Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and troubleshooting flexographic printing presses and auxiliary equipment to meet production standards and goals. This role involves ensuring quality control, maintaining machines, adhering to safety regulations, and collaborating with other departments for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set-up, and trouble shoot flexographic printing presses and auxiliary equipment in accordance with production standards and productivity goals.
  • Utilize product specs (copy card), change plates, cylinders, and dies.
  • Maintain machines by performing basic maintenance including lubricants, replace minor parts, and request major maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain work area utilizing 5S methods.
  • Report machine and equipment malfunctions immediately to the group leader, maintenance and/or supervisor.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Cross-train and work multiple press lines and equipment as needed.
  • Follow all quality inspection plans, which involves measuring, checking, and testing various processes and product parameters.
  • Meet established goals for material scrap and yield.
  • Collaborate with all plant leadership and departments such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics to coordinate production activities, address technical issues, standardize processes, and optimize supply chain processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Support all continuous improvement initiatives as required via participation and or implementation.
  • Operate machines in a safe, efficient manner in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Follow and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Report any unsafe condition(s), injury, or accident immediately to immediate supervisor or other member of management.
  • Provide improvement suggestions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by floor or plant leadership.
