About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for the operation and manual setup/changeovers of multi-color sheet fed or high speed continuous/web presses. You will perform effective press setups, including identifying and loading correct stock, setting the correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register, and setting up attribute functions like perforations, numbering, and file holes. You will determine and understand all order instructions and run the press, meeting job requirements for ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size, construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Additionally, you will perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance to ensure product quality and understand all press controls and demonstrate their use. The role also requires the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and make adjustments to equipment, including blanket changes, washing units, cleaning water systems, and roller settings.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2 years manufacturing/printing experience.
  • Familiar with printing process and ink usage.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • HS/GED
  • 2 years printing press experience
  • familiar with Lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation and manual setup/changeovers of multi-color sheet fed or high speed continuous/web presses.
  • Perform a complete effective set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, etc.
  • Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size and construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance to ensure a quality product to customer as required.
  • Understands all press controls and demonstrates their use.
  • Maintain s the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrate s the ability to make adjustments to the equip m ent including blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.
