About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products is searching for a Safety Oriented Specialty Operator/Press (1st Shift) to be based in their Ashland City, TN plant. NABRICO’s Inland Barge Group is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. They manufacture dry cargo barges (flat-deck and hopper) for products like grain, coal, and aggregates, as well as tank barges for petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. NABRICO is also the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers and provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Good knowledge of operating metal fabricating machinery.
  • Must be able to read blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot hand tools, including measuring tape.
  • Capable of setting up and operating conventional equipment with multiple processes of turns.
  • Possess some knowledge of shop math.
  • Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates metal fabricating machines such as press and heavy-duty presses to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal parts specified by blueprints, layouts, and templates.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • Maintains and completes all required records.
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
