About The Position

The Press Operator operates presses and related equipment to perform production operations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and manufacturing requirements. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and production execution within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have worked in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, use SPC and measuring devices, understand manufacturing processes, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, communication skills, and practical understanding of lean principles and shop floor processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous press operator experience is preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Deep draw metal stamping industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate single and double action, hydraulic, or mechanical presses and feed parts, sheet, or coil stock to complete production operations such as draw, re-draw, trimming, sizing, flattening, piercing, and ironing.
  • Obtain first-piece approval before production runs and perform required production, SPC, and quality checks to maintain quality standards.
  • Record quantities produced, scrap, materials used, and operations completed in the manufacturing operating system.
  • Observe all press operator safety rules and procedures, including initial and periodic checks of dies, punches, bolts, brackets, and setup conditions to ensure safe operation.
  • Report equipment or die problems immediately and support other departments or related operations as needed.
  • Maintain workplace organization and housekeeping, dispose of scrap properly, and participate as a member of the Operations Team.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Works in related departments or operations as needed to support business objectives.
