About The Position
The Twin Falls Times-News is hiring a full-time press operator to join our team. This position will learn and/or perform all aspects of offset printing with a Goss Urbanite press and performing maintenance. Trainees will learn by shadowing journey level press operators. This position works in the team to produce print products according to customer specifications and within deadlines. The hours for this full-time position are M-F, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to distinguish colors.
- Possess mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work night shifts as needed.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Nice To Haves
- Previous printing press experience.
- Manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
- Learn and/or perform all aspects of offset printing with a Goss Urbanite press and performing maintenance.
- Produce print products according to customer specifications and within deadlines.
- Loading newsprint.
- Making pasters.
- Monitoring reel stands.
- Setting ink densities.
- Setting registration.
- Filling ink fountains.
- Setting folders.
- Plate making.
- Maintaining a safe and clean press area.
- Other duties as assigned.
