Our Staunton, VA facility to looking for a Press Operator Assistant for our Printing department. This position will be responsible for assisting the Press Operator to make sure the Press is operating in the safest possible manner, and the quality of the product exceeds our customers expectations while performance goals are being achieved.

Requirements

  • Operate hand jack and electric pallet jack
  • Operate forklift truck
  • Operate aerator
  • Understand Job Jacket information
  • Complete necessary paperwork
  • Demonstrate a level of mechanical aptitude necessary to be successful in the position

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of a multi-unit Sheet Fed Press.
  • Set up and operate coating unit.
  • Troubleshoot Quality and Press Issues and resolve.
  • Keep Press Department Leads and Manager informed of needed machine repairs.
  • Respond to Pressman with any special request during press make ready, monitors press feed during press runs.
  • Fill all press chemicals, load inks, put away inks when done with job and refill process inks on press shelf when needed.
  • Understand the importance of environmental responsibilities and proper disposal of press waste.
  • Lead crew when needed.
  • Remove any full AQ/Fountain solution flush water drums from press to Non-Hazardous waste staging area.
  • Learn how to achieve and maintain proper Ink and Water Balance.
  • Assist the pressman in any maintenance of the press.
  • Follow all company safety requirements.
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
