About The Position

This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining flexographic press equipment. The role involves performing all make-ready tasks, such as mounting plates, installing print cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, checking image positioning, prepping web paths, and adjusting tension and register. The operator will make necessary color corrections and adjustments to anilox and press settings to meet quality specifications. Additionally, the role includes cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining the press, performing minor repairs, replacing worn parts, and conducting periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements.
  • Skill to read and understand job specifications.
  • Knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage, settings, and materials.
  • Skill to make difficult precise web paths and adjustments.
  • Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Google) preferred.

  • Direct experience with Flexographic press operation.
  • Skill in use of Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron, Gallus, Nil Peter.
  • Navy MOS: LI:Lithographer
  • Marine MOS: 4619:Combat Lithographer

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain flexographic press equipment.

  • Make necessary color corrections and anilox and press adjustments prior to production runs to meet quality specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press.
  • Perform minor repairs and replace worn or broken parts as required.
  • Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
