About The Position

Now Hiring Mechanics in our Rochelle, IL plant! This role involves servicing, operating, maintaining, overhauling, and monitoring various equipment including sheet feeders, presses, compound liners, elevators, conveyors, and compound systems. The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining the production of quality ends according to quality standards and performing scheduled inspections, entering data into a Windows computer, and reacting to nonstandard conditions. The position requires the ability to efficiently maintain and overhaul assigned equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalency
Successfully pass both Battery X Mechanic test as well as our Precision Measuring Test
A can do, will do attitude.
A desire to operate and maintain Silgan's can lines by performing and documenting quality checks and measurements.

Responsibilities

Service, operate, maintain, overhaul, and monitor sheet feeder, presses, compound liners, elevators, conveyors, compound system, and other pieces of equipment.
Maintain production of quality ends as defined in our quality standards.
Perform inspection procedures at the scheduled intervals, enter the corresponding data into a Windows computer, and react accordingly to any nonstandard conditions.
Demonstrate the ability to efficiently maintain and overhaul assigned equipment.
