About The Position

Germantown Tool & Manufacturing is seeking a Press Operator to join its team. The role involves operating and setting up a stamping press, checking product quality, handling materials, reporting machine issues, maintaining an orderly work area, and following safety procedures.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of machinery, including the ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production issues.
• Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in quality control.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Physical stamina to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Safety awareness and ability to adhere to safety procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating stamping presses or related machinery is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the stamping press to shape materials according to work orders and specifications.
• Prepare the press for production runs by loading materials, adjusting dies, and setting parameters.
• Perform quality checks during and after production to ensure parts meet standards.
• Load and unload materials, which may include heavy items.
• Identify and report machine malfunctions or other issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized for safety and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
