About The Position

This position is responsible for operating machines to ensure the highest quality of production is achieved. The Press Brake Operator will perform fabricating operations of sheet metal products according to specifications, position work manually, and align layout marks to dies, including changing dies as required per order specifications. They will also make adjustments and alignments per order specifications on machines, inspect work for conformance to job specifications using various tools, and review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements. The role involves obtaining necessary materials and tools, ensuring the safe operation of equipment, and recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. The operator must report any problems affecting safety, equipment, tooling, or quality to their supervisor immediately, maintain full working knowledge of all processes, and ensure a clean and organized work environment. The employee is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong team work.
  • Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
  • Basic ability to understand blue prints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
  • Basic mechanical principles of machine setups, operations, and materials.
  • General knowledge of sheet metal fabricating and assembly practices.
  • Some knowledge with programming is necessary for operation and calibration.
  • Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
  • Recent Press Brake and Recent Press Brake Set-up experience.
  • Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

  • Review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements.
  • Obtain necessary materials and tools required to achieve expected run rates.
  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
  • Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
