About The Position
Westaff is hiring a Press Brake Operator in Wallingford, CT! This role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC press brakes to bend light-gauge stainless steel material to exacting standards. The operator will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, translating them into machine setups, and ensuring part accuracy using precision measuring instruments. The position also includes maintaining a clean work area, adhering to safety procedures, troubleshooting machine issues, inspecting finished parts, and preparing materials for forming.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating Cincinnati brakes or similar CNC press brakes
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools accurately
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and program adjustments
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and precision
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Cincinnati brakes and controls is a plus
- Technical or trade training preferred
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC press brakes

- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor maintenance
- Inspect finished parts for defects and ensure quality standards are met
- Prepare materials for forming, including deburring, labeling, and staging
