About The Position

The Brake Press Operator uses press brakes and miscellaneous equipment to create, shape, and customize materials into a variety of forms dictated by Fabrication plans. Reads and interprets detailed and complex instructions to produce the desired forms. This is a full-time, 1st shift position, Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Math skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of standard and metric measurements
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Crane operation certification required
  • Forklift operation certification required
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Responsibilities

  • Following the Safety policy, including PPE
  • Setting up and operating press brakes and other equipment on a variety of parts of all shapes and sizes
  • Checking products against standards for conformance to specifications
  • Following specifications in job orders, verbal instructions, and blueprints
  • Observing machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
  • Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces
  • Comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
